The 2014 Southern Region Pesticide Safety Educator Conference brings together pesticide safety coordinators from 13 southeastern states in an effort to coordinate programs and information pertinent to clientele in the South. The states represented include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
These educators serve as the Extension Service contact and pesticide safety education specialists in each of their respective states, where their clientele include structural pesticide, agricultural, government and public health professionals and farmers. They provide education on a variety of topics, including emerging trends in sustainable pest management, transition to organic farming, IPM strategies and other important regulatory issues.
This program was organized by the LSU AgCenter in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF).
We would also like to extend a special thank you to our sponsors for their generosity and support.
