Core Lab Short Course (1-Day)

YOU SHOULD ATTEND IF:

You have little or no experience working in a lab and will be employed in a core lab at a raw-sugar factory.

YOU CAN EXPECT TO:

  • Be given an overview of the process involved in cane delivery, cane sampling and, briefly, raw-sugar manufacturing.
  • Learn about the equipment and analyses used in a core lab.
  • Understand why the analyses performed in the core lab are important.

CONTENT YOU CAN COUNT ON:

  • History of cane-sampling process.
  • Current cane-sampling process including:
    • Equipment used.
    • Analyses performed.
    • Calculation of results.
  • Effect of each analysis on overall results.
  • Troubleshooting.
