LSU AgCenter offering greenhouse tomato seminar Feb. 27 in Bossier City

Vegetable growers can learn the latest about greenhouse tomato production at the LSU AgCenter’s 13th annual greenhouse tomato seminar on Feb. 27 at the Red River Research Station in Bossier City.

The program will be conducted by Dr. H.Y. Hanna, an LSU AgCenter researcher at the station.

No registration fee is required for the event, which will last from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Topics will include grafting tomatoes, new tomato varieties, new growing media from recycled glass, recycling growing media, successful cultural practices and pollinating techniques.

A new session for home gardeners will feature producing seven popular vegetables in a hobby greenhouse to feed a family.

The program will include a greenhouse tour and a special training session on grafting.
