WOODWORTH – Mayhaw growers can learn the latest research about producing their crops during the 12th annual mayhaw conference and field day slated for March 7 at the Wesley Center in Woodworth.
Dr. John Pyzner, an LSU AgCenter horticulturist, said events will begin with check-in/registration at 8:15 a.m. The field day is sponsored by the LSU AgCenter and the Louisiana Mayhaw Association.
“We have a very informative day planned,” Pyzner said. “Speaker topics will include marketing, production, pest control and other mayhaw topics."
A mayhaw orchard tour is planned for the afternoon.
Cost of the conference is $25 for members of the mayhaw association, which includes $15 for membership dues for 2008 and $10 for lunch. The cost for members’ spouses is $10. Non-members may attend for $15.
