An educational and certification program for individuals raising goats will be held Monday, Nov. 12, at the LSU AgCenter’s Calhoun Research Station, 321 Highway 80 East, in Calhoun.
The program will begin at 6 p.m.
Dr. Christine Navarre, LSU AgCenter veterinarian, will present information on internal parasites found in goats and their control.
For individuals who want to be certified in the FAMACHA method, the latest tool being used in the battle against the internal parasite Heamonchus contortus, Navarre will present a hands-on session demonstrating techniques and providing guidelines leading to certification.
A $10 fee for the certification is required for the session and the take-home materials.
