The latest information on rice and soybean research will be available during the LSU AgCenter’s Annual Rice and Soybean Field Day July 28 at the Woodsland Plantation near Rayville.
The field day begins at 9 a.m. with a rice tour. LSU AgCenter researchers from the Rice Research Station at Crowley, the Northeast Research Station in St. Joseph and LSU AgCenter offices in Baton Rouge will discuss rice varieties and fertility, insects, weeds and diseases on this tour.
The soybean tour is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. This tour will include information from a variety of LSU AgCenter experts, who will provide an update on Asian soybean rust, trials with a variety of fungicides and a demonstration of Group 4 soybean varieties.
Representatives from various companies also will be on hand to talk about their rice and soybean varieties.
The field day ends at noon with a sponsored lunch.
