Holidays bring festive parties and large family meals. With so much food in the house, it’s important to practice food safety. LSU AgCenter nutritionist Beth Reames says harmful bacteria that may be present in food can double every 20 minutes. The more bacteria present, the greater the chance of foodborne illness.

Smart Bodies is an educational program aimed at improving children's health and preventing childhood obesity. A joint initiative of the LSU AgCenter and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation, Smart Bodies is taught in schools across the state and helps children learn how to build strong bodies and develop active minds.
