My rosemary looks sick. I don't know what's wrong with it. Can you help me figure this out?

Thanks, Frank

This type of damage is often caused by various small, sucking insects. The damage is minor and mostly cosmetic. The flavor remains strong.

It's possible that this is spider mites, although all the rain has been holding populations down and I was not able to see direct signs of them in the photo. We use light horticultural oils, like Year Round Spray Oil or All Seasons Oil, to control spider mites (and it would get rid of any sucking insects on the plant).

If you do spray, don't be alarmed if the plant does not look immediately better. This damage will not go away quickly.
