Dan,

I've noticed this bug around my plumeria flowers. I suspect he likes to eat them. Do you know what this bug is and if he is a threat to my plumeria flowers?

Thanks!

David J.

This is the bordered plant bug (Largus). They are very common, feed on a wide variety of plants and generally are not a major issue. They have piercing sucking mouthparts. They may feed on the leaves or flowers of the plumeria, but damage is generally not severe. You may see some small brown spots on the petals of the flowers as a result of their feeding, but that’s about it. No control is necessary.
