International Programs

“Ensuring the AgCenter is connected to issues affecting agriculture globally not only offers opportunities to improve the quality of life in developing countries using scientific knowledge, but it also helps strengthen the domestic agriculture industry.”

Agriculture was one of the pillars on which Louisiana State University and Agriculture and Mechanical College was founded. We have been a major contributor to the development of a strong and diverse agriculture sector within the state and have made significant contributions to the further development of U.S. and international agriculture. The LSU AgCenter International Programs Office will continue to strive to expand its global footprint and positive impact on improving the lives of individuals throughout the world. As Louisianans, we live in an inter-dependent global community and benefit from a diversity of international agriculture sector activities. This may include improved export markets for our crops, value-added products, technologies, and services. Engagement in international agriculture activities also establishes global networks and develops long-term relationships with educational and research institutions and individuals that positively impact Louisiana agriculture and the overall LSU community. International Programs will continue the mission of strengthening the human resource capacity of LSU AgCenter faculty and staff in the areas of research, extension, and training, with the goal of positively impacting the lives of our citizens and the global community.
