Clean Chemistry has licensed biocidal compositions from the LSU AgCenter for the development of sanitizing and wastewater treatment products. The compositions were developed by Don Day of the Audubon Sugar Institute and are effective at oxidizing biofilms. The work is particularly effective at destroying microorganisms that can contaminate water or the industrial machinery used to treat it. The compositions use components “generally recognized as safe” (GRAS) to maximize safety and eliminate any toxic byproducts that may result from treatment. With this technology and others, Clean Chemistry is looking to produce the next generation of oxidants and disinfectants. The company's initial market focus is upstream oil and gas water management applications.
