Your farm eventually will become part of your legacy.
A charitable gift of land to the LSU AgCenter can be an investment in significant and meaningful programs being conducted in agricultural research, extension and teaching.
The gift of your farm can benefit any AgCenter program or programs you designate and support research in such critical areas as sustainable agriculture, conservation, water quality, the economic stability of rural Louisiana, rural health, food production, food safety and family and youth programs.
You can permanently fund an endowment created by the assets from your farm. The endowment would be a restricted account in the LSU Foundation, and it would carry your name or another name you may choose.
Whether you contribute the farm outright during your lifetime, or make the gift through your will or estate plan, you may designate the fund or program you want to benefit from your gift.
The LSU AgCenter will prepare an agreement that states how you want the money to be used. When the funds are available, that agreement will guide the LSU AgCenter and the LSU Foundation in the administration of the funds.
To make a legacy of your land, we recommend you arrange a gift through your personal attorney. We will be glad to discuss the options with your lawyer, accountant or financial adviser.
Contributions to the LSU AgCenter are your opportunity to make a significant investment in a true Louisiana success story.Legacy of Land
