Performance appraisals are an increasingly important aspect of supervisory responsibilities and overall effective management. The AgCenter HRM Office is again offering training on Conducting Performance Appraisals. This training session will cover all performance appraisal systems used in the AgCenter. The training is scheduled for Wednesday, May 15, 2013, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and is being offered through distance education.

Although performance appraisals are generally mandated by various regulations, the most important reasons we conduct them are because they are a key method of:

  • improving productivity,
  • communicating expectations to employees,
  • documenting employee performance (both good and bad),
  • documenting our accomplishments.

Employees with responsibility for conducting evaluations are strongly encouraged to attend.
