Try a super sipper!

orangejuiceEveryone likes to snack. Snacks are easy to make and can be good for you. It is smart to eat snacks that give us nutrients we need each day. Some of these are fresh fruits and

vegetables, milk and cheese, nuts and popcorn. Be careful with your snacks. Too much between-meal eating is not a good idea. Take it easy on cola drinks. A 12-oz. bottle or can has 9 teaspoons of sugar. Drink more water and low-fat milk.

This cool drink is super because it has two foods that give you nutrients. Did you ever think of putting milk and orange juice together? This cool drink is full of two nutrients (calcium from the milk and vitamin C from the orange juice).



You need:
1 1/2 cups lowfat milk
1 1/2 cups water
6-ounce can frozen orange juice concentrate
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla



Equipment:
glass or clear measuring cup
measuring spoons
large bowl
fork or blender



Instructions:

  1. Measure the milk, and pour it in a large bowl.
  2. Add the other ingrediants.
  3. Using a fork or blender (with mom or dad's help), mix well until foamy.
  4. Serve at once.

Measure liquid ingrediants:

  1. Use glass or a clear measuring cup for liquid so you can see through it. There is space above the 1-cup mark so you won't spill the liquid. The spout makes easy pouring.
  2. Set the cup on a flat counter or tabletop. Bend down so your eye is even with the mark for the amount of liquid you need. Fill your cup to that mark.
