White Spot Syndrome Affects Crustaceans

(Radio News 07/09/07) In early spring of this year some Louisiana crawfish farmers noticed unexplained deaths of crawfish in their ponds. Researchers determined the crawfish were infected with White Spot Syndrome Virus – a virus that affects many types of crustaceans, says LSU AgCenter aquaculture specialist Dr. Greg Lutz.
