Cattle, forage field day set for May 1 at Rosepine

The LSU AgCenter’s Rosepine Research Station will host its annual cattle and forage field day May 1.

Registration will begin at 2 p.m. with opening remarks for the field day at 2:30 p.m. LSU AgCenter personnel will conduct a tour of research being conducted at the station from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The tours will include information of the LSU AgCenter’s studies on the potential of growing Texas bluegrass, controlling cost in cow/calf operations, increasing the efficiency of cattle operations and using poultry litter and commercial fertilizers in pastures.

A complimentary meal will be served at 5:30 p.m.

LSU AgCenter faculty members will be on hand for individual consultations with producers during the event.

The field day is planned to provide educational, research-based information for the public, especially cattle and forage producers in the area.
