Louisiana Pecans Abundant But Expensive This Holiday Season

Description:
(Radio News 12/11/06) Pecans are popular around the holidays, and this year Louisiana has an abundant crop that even heavy rains couldn’t hinder. Not only is the crop one of the largest in several years, pecans are getting a good price. Farmers can average a little over a dollar per pound for machine-harvested pecans or around 90 cents a pound for pecans that are hand-harvested. (Runtime: 60 seconds)
