A former Louisiana 4-H’er with an extensive background in communications has been appointed executive director of the Louisiana 4-H Foundation.
Trey Williams moved into that position Monday (March 1) in the LSU AgCenter’s 4-H office in Baton Rouge. He comes to the LSU AgCenter with about nine years of experience that includes working for former Louisiana Gov. Mike Foster, as well as U.S. Rep. Jim McCrery.
Williams’ resume shows he has considerable experience in public speaking and writing, as well as helping coordinate meetings and other engagements. He also has experience in working in state and national government positions.
Terril Faul, head of the LSU AgCenter’s 4-H Youth Development Department, said Williams will be an asset to the Louisiana 4-H Foundation.
"We are happy to have Trey come on board with us," Faul said. "His experience will be valuable as we move Louisiana 4-H forward."
The Louisiana 4-H Foundation helps to support the youth development program in the state by raising and administering endowed funds that help finance a variety of projects, awards, contests and other activities.
Williams served as state 4-H president in 1988-89. He also was a program assistant in the National 4-H Center in 1991.
