Although competition was part of the process of vying for top honors with beef and dairy cattle, goats, hogs, poultry and sheep at the 2004 LSU AgCenter Livestock Show, the events were about much more – like the teamwork and camaraderie shown by Brittany Thibodeaux of St. Martin Parish (at left in photo above) and Shea Campbell of Iberville, who pitched in to groom a friend's sheep for show.

Of course, learning to do the work that comes with raising and showing livestock also was part of the process, and Tyler Aguillard of Evangeline Parish (in photo at left above) knew that well as he prepared his sheep for the competition. But it wasn't all work and no play. Some young people managed to pass the time between contests by playing games and interacting with one another.
