The Southeast Research Station was established in 1944 for the purpose of generating information applicable to beef cattle and dairy farm enterprises located in Southeastern Louisiana.

The LSU AgCenter Forage Quality Laboratory is at the Southeast Research Station near Franklinton, La. Louisiana and Mississippi forage and livestock producers are invited to send samples of feed and forage for analyses (See "See Forage Lab Fees" for costs).
