Hill Farm Research Projects
Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station research is conducted through approved projects that meet specific criteria. Each project is assigned a CRIS (Current Research Information System) number that is used to track the progress of the research and to report the project status to the Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station and USDA. CRIS project reports from all states are available from the on-line archives in Washington, D.C. at http://cwf.uvm.edu/cris.

Nestled among rolling pastures framed by tall pines is the LSU AgCenter’s Hill Farm Research Station – so named for the geography of Claiborne Parish, where it is located. It is the northernmost of the AgCenter’s 20 research stations across the state.

Carbon Credit Conference

On May 14, 2008, the LSU AgCenter hosted the Carbon Credit Conference in Alexandria to provide landowners and natural resource professionals with an understanding of the emerging carbon trading market. Presentations attached provided information on the environmental rationale behind the development of a carbon cap-and-trade market and how it works, which forest and agricultural management activities can produce carbon credits for sale, and potential changes ahead for carbon trading.
