Sports Mulch - Purple and Gold
Want mulch in your landscape using your favorite team colors? The newest mulch to debut in South Louisiana in the last couple months is Sports Mulch. This new mulch is on display at the Landscape Horticulture Research and Extension Center located at the LSU AgCenter's Hammond Research Station.
Businessman Brian Blanco bags the colored mulches in Kentwood. Purple and gold, for making tiger stripes, is very popular, but you can also obtain black and gold for the New Orleans Saints or select other colors for your favorite sports teams or for holiday decorations. Light-colored mulches are pine bark while darker-colored mulches (such as the most expensive purple) is hardwood bark. More information on Sports Mulch is available here. The mulch is professionally installed in the Baton Rouge area by J & J Lawn Service. It is also available for sale at several independent retail garden centers in South Louisiana (as of this writing - Clegg's Nursery in Baton Rouge).
