Weed Control Research in Agronomic Crops of the Lower Red River Valley
OBJECTIVES:
- To evaluate weed control and crop response of experimental preemergence and postemergence herbicides in comparison with standard treatments for high pH soils of the lower Red River valley.
- To develop weed control programs using newly developed herbicides for use in soybean, cotton, corn, grain sorghum and wheat.
- To develop weed management systems for use in reduced-tillage crop production, to include evaluation of reduced rates, adjuvants and herbicide combinations.
- To develop weed management programs using genetically transformed varieties of corn, cotton and soybean for tolerance to specific herbicides and utility in existing weed management programs.
