2011 4-H District and State Horse Show information and possession date deadline. The 2011 District 4‐H Horse Show will be held June 28‐29, 2011, and the State 4-H Horse Show will be held July 4-10, 2011.

Can you grow a giant pumpkin? Well here’s your chance to find out! Madison Parish 4-H is participating in a regional Giant Pumpkin Contest, co-sponsored by Curry Farms of Start, La. and the LSU AgCenter.

The 2011 4-H LOST Camp will be held August 1-5, 2011. LOST camp is intended to fulfill a demand for a longer camping experience for 7th and 8th graders and is held at the LSU AgCenter's Grant Walker 4-H Educational Center, an 80 acre campsite located near Pollock, LA, on Highway 8 about 15 miles northeast of Alexandria.

Information about the 2011 4-H Cooks! Contest which will be held Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at the Madison Parish Extension Office. You do not have to be present to win. Entries may be taken to school where they will be picked up for judging.

The Association of Louisiana Electric Cooperatives, Inc. (ALEC) will once again sponsor two 4-H members to attend the Louisiana Electric Cooperative's Youth Tour trip, June 10-17, 2011, to Washington, D.C.

Enter your picture into the 2012 Ag Photo contest by January 6, 2012. The contest categories are: Farm Animals, Horticulture/Plants/Crops and Any Other Agriculture.

4-H Cloverbuds is for boys and girls who are not yet old enough to become 4-H members. Like all other 4-H projects, 4-H Cloverbuds involve youth in hands-on learning in a fun informal group setting.

There's more to 4-H than just club meetings...look what else you could be doing! Make a poster telling the story of beef and/or dairy products and you could put some extra cash in your pocket!
