4-H Leaders focus on building quality 4-H Clubs

Three local volunteers attended the annual 4-H Volunteer Leader Training held September 23 at the Rayville Civic Center. The theme was working “To Make The Best Better” through improving the quality of 4-H Club experiences.

Nineteen Madison Parish teens joined about 1,900 other youth, adult leaders and volunteers from across Louisiana for the annual 4-H University competition held on the LSU Baton Rouge campus June 23-26.

4-H Day At Capitol

The eighth annual 4-H Day at the Capitol brought together more than 2,500 4-H youth, parents and community volunteers with Louisiana legislators on the steps of the state Capitol to celebrate 4-H in Louisiana. The steps and grounds were blanketed in a sea of green and white for the traditional first Wednesday in June event.
How to Take a Soil Sample
Contains information on how to take a soil sample for gardening, pasture and forage, row crops, flowerbeds, etc. Soil samples should be taken every three years. Also includes the form for sending in a soil sample.
