High school senior who plans to major in some area of human ecology or the medical field including veterinary medicine, biology, physical, speech or occupational therapy, radiology, etc. is eligible to apply for the scholarship named in honor of Ann H. Harper.

The Webster Parish Homemakers' Council is making available a $500 scholarship to a student already in college or person going back to college to continue their education or seek an advanced degree. One scholarship will be awarded which is named in honor of Eunice F. Smiley,

Many of you, readers, may have heard in the local news about super colonies of ants known as "Crazy Ants" that pose a threat of invading our state.
