Washington Parish Homemakers groups, Bogue Chitto, Busy Bees, Country Bumpkins, Fair City and the 50 Plus clubs enjoy their annual event.

The annual Christmas in July Homemaker Event was held on Wednesday July 16, 2008 at the Washington Parish Fairgrounds in Franklinton. Valerie Vincent, FCS Agent, was one of 9 demonstrators providing information on economical ways to make family friendly Christmas Treats. All five of the Washington Parish Homemakers groups, Bogue Chitto, Busy Bees, Country Bumpkins, Fair City and the 50 Plus clubs set up tables to raffle as fundraisers. In total, 70 people enjoyed educational demonstrations, refreshments, and a Fashion Show put on by Emily Becnel, 4-H Agent, and the Sew with Cotton contestants. A special thanks to Mary Evelyn McDaniel for organizing such a wonderful event each year.
