4-H is the largest youth organization in the United States! Louisiana has over 85,000 members in more than 1,700 clubs.
4-H participation provides youth a means of developing positive self-esteem and acquiring essential life skills. 4-H is a people-oriented program promoting leadership skills, citizenship and family improvement through goal-setting and hands-on experiences. 4-H uses professionals and volunteers to provide informal educational opportunities for the development of youth.
4-H strives to be flexible and focused in response to the diverse educational needs of the clientele and the community. Educators and volunteers receive effective training which enables them to expand leadership roles in delivering programs.
