The 2007 St. Tammany Parish 4-H Achievement Day was an important and inspiring day for the youth of St. Tammany Parish. It was a day filled with competition and comraderie as 4-H members displayed their courage, courtesy and cooperation as they identified, demonstrated and judged. 4-H Achievement Day was held at the Greater Covington Center on May 9, 2007 hosted by 4-H Agents Amy Long-Pierre and Bobby King with the LSU Agricultural Center.
Peter Cannizzaro, St. Tammany Parish County Agent, called the Achievement Day ceremonies to order. Michael Abner, Creekside Jr. High 4-H Club President, led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance and Callie Wskom, Folsom Junior High School 4-H President, conducted the 4-H Pledge. Once all of the competitions were completed, several 4-H Clubs participated in the Song and Yell Contest which was won by Folsom Junior High. Individual Achievement Day Contest Winners were announced and were awarded with various medals for their accomplishments.
4-H Club Leaders were also recognized for their outstanding and dedicated service to 4-H and the St. Tammany Parish Community. With a roar from the multitude of 4-Her's in attendance the 2007 St. Tammany Parish 4-H Achievement Day was adjourned until next year.
