Twelve St. Martin Parish 4-H members participated in the 2008 State 4-H Records Contest. We had 8 state winners and 16 blue ribbon winners. Congratulations 4-H'ers.

The LSU AgCenter has instituted a new procedure for validating market and commercial animals for the 2009 Livestock Shows. Please contact the St. Martin Parish 4-H office if you are a new exhibitor and plan on showing animals.

St. Martin Parish had 59 elementary 4-H club members attending summer camp at Grant Walker in Pollock , LA the week of June 2-6, 2008.

Thirty senior 4-H club members represented St. Martin Parish during the 94th annual state 4-H University competition held at LSU, Baton Rouge.There were three state winners and 19 blue ribbon winners.

On April 4-5, 30 4-H'ers from St. Martin Parish participated in the Southern Regional 4-H Shooting Sports at the Tallow Creek Shooting Grounds in Goodbee.

St. Martin Parish 4-H members, families, leaders, honorees and supporters of the 4-H program gathered on May 13, 2008 to honor newly named parish Hall of Fame nominees and to commemorate the centennial existence of this youth program. Nominees to the Louisiana 4-H Hall of Fame for St. Martin Parish were Conrad Gauthier, Charles A. Fuselier and Sydnie Mae Durand.

St. Martin Parish 4-H members displayed the culinary customs of their families as they competed in the area 4-H Commodity Cookery contest held in Crowley on March 31, 2008

St. Martin Parish exhibitors participated in the Tri-Parish Horse Show on June 9, 2008 at the Sugarena in New Iberia.

These photographs were taken at 4-H Challenge Camp. Activities included a boat building contest, painting and installing 4 houses for bats, planting of irises and pitcher plants in a wetland area of the campground.

St. Martin 4-Hers 7th graders attended Challenge Camp at Grant Walker , Pollock , LA on March 27-29, 2008. 15 club members participated.

In each grade division outstanding record book winners, runner ups and honorable mention record books are selected. Awards are presented to 4-H club members at Achievement Day. Here are the winners for 2008.

245 Outstanding 4-H Club Members were Honored on May 13, 2008 at Breaux Bridge High School for their outstanding record books.

There were 715 4-H Club members who turned in record books to be judged in different projects and who were eligible to participate at 4-H Achievement Day contest held on April 18, 2008. Here are the Record books and Achievement Day Results.

St. Martin Parish 4-H Achievement Day will be on April 18, 2008 at Breaux Bridge High School. The contests and rules for each grade division are listed which the club members may enter and participate in for competiion.

The 2008 4-H Ambassador Contest was held at the 4-H Office on January 29. The results are as follows.

The 2008 St. Martin Parish Broiler Show was held at the Livestock Barn in Breaux Bridge on February 2. Nineteen 4-H club members participated. The Poultry Premier Exhibitor Contest was also held.

The 2008 St. Martin Parish Rabbit Show was held on February 2. Winners and participants are listed.

The St. Martin Parish 4-H and FFA Livestock Show and Sale was held on January 18 & 19, 2007. Fifty-two exhibitors participated with their market and breeding animals. Results are posted.

The following study guides (grad levels 5-6, 7-8 and high school) are available for 4-H club members to study for the following judging test on 4-H Achievement Day : Horticulture, Insect ID, Meat and Plant Science Tests.

The annual 4-H Pet Show was held on Saturday, October 27, 2007. There were 45 4-H club members participating in the categories of cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, firsh and any other pet.

4-H Agents along with 24 4-H Junior Leaders conducted two officer training workshops to teach 4-H'ers how to conduct a club meeting.

4-H club members participated in the National 4-H Week Poster Contest. Best Theme and Overall posters were chosen. Participants were awarded blue, red and white ribbons.
