Welcome to St. Landry Parish 4-H

4-H
4-H Week
Adventure

WHAT IS 4-H?
4-H is an educational youth organization open to males and females ages 9-19 years old.  It is organized throughout the United States as well in many foreign countries. In Louisiana, the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service, a part of the LSU AgCenter, conducts the 4-H Program.

In St. Landry Parish, there are 40 organized clubs with over 1,100 members.  Members work on individual 4-H projects, participate in club, parish, district and state educational programs and activities and learn from educational demonstrations provided by 4-H agents.

ST. LANDRY PARISH OVERALL GOAL
Our goal is to provide programs and materials that are educational, hands-on and fun for the youth of St. Landry Parish. We welcome parent and adult leader involvement to help secure enthusiastic youth participation.

PROJECT ENROLLMENT
At the September 4-H Club meetings, enrollment cards will be given to youth. The cards should be completed and returned with complete name, address, city, zip, etc. by the October club meeting.  For those St. Landry Parish youth wishing to be a 4-H member but do not have a club at their school, you may join as a Member-at-Large. Please contact us at 337-948-0561 for an enrollment card.

THIS YEAR, THERE'S THE OPTION OF NOT SELECTING A PROJECT BOOK
This option will help alleviate the expense of giving project books to members who will not turn them in for judging in March. For those members who choose to compete in March, you will select from a list of projects and will be expected to complete the project book.
