4-H Youth Development Program
Our goal is to provide programs and materials that are educational, hands-on and fun for the youth of St. Landry Parish. We welcome parent and adult leader involvement to help secure enthusiastic youth participation.
Enrollment begins at the September 4-H club meetings. Interested students can get an enrollment card at their club's meeting or request an enrollment card from the Extension Office in St. Landry Parish.
St. Landry Parish offers a variety of 4-H activities and programs which include:
- 4-H Achievement Day
- 4-H Camp (4th - 6th Grade 4-H'ers)
- 4-H Challenge Camp (7th - 8th Grade 4-H'ers)
- 4-H University (Formerly 4-H Short Course - 13 Years Old & Up)
- 4-H Junior Leaders (7th - 12th Grade 4-H'ers)
- Bike-A-Thons (Eunice and Opelousas Areas)
- Commodity Ambassador Contest
- Electric Clinic
- Fall Activity Day
- Fishing Rodeo
- Food for Families Food Drive (Eunice and Opelousas Area)
- Garden Contest
- Horse Shows (Parish, District, State)
- Livestock Shows (Parish, District, State, Southern University)
