St. Helena Youth Attend SU Expo
| | St. Helena Parish participation was strong at Southern University's 2008 Family and Youth Expo. |
| | | Devin Robbins, Derrion Robbins, tiana Cooper and Desire' Guillory did an outstanding job in the Quiz Bowl. They placed third. Each received a ribbon and certificate. |
| | | Ninth grader Desire' Guillory participated in the public speaking contest and took first place. She received a ribbon and certificate for her participation. She looks forward to participating again next year. |

Southern University held its annual Family and Youth Expo on June 12 - 21. This year's theme was "Reach Out and Embrace Our Changing World." Over 40 students from St. Helena Parish attended along with volunteers.
Participants included: Gerald Holland, Jr., Devin Robbins, Derrion Robbins, Darrius Bellazar, Ayanna Cooper, Tianna Cooper, Stanley Hughes, Jacquillion Floyd, LaJarious Floyd, Steven Guillory, Spencer Guillory, Desire Guillory, Alia Matthews, Breunca Etinne, Terrion James, Ladasha Etinne, Kyvan Trout, Shirmiracle James, Breanna Cooper, Patrick Palmer, Kyran Mason, Bobby Ray Thomas, Jr., Hazel Cornish, Jeron Banks, Teona Myles, Landaja Hall, Kayla Cooper, and Iwuan Jackson.
Volunteers were: Samella Cooper, Betty Cornish, Ivory Page and Sank Page.
