St. Helena youth returned recently from a week at 4-H Camp. The camp for 4th, 5th and 6th graders is located in Pollock, La.
Campers were able to choose from different educational tracks. Each track taught the campers something exciting. Some campers learned to swim while others made rockets or learned how to cook pizza outside. Campers could also learn about archery and ATV safety.
Every night concluded with a dance or a dip in the pool and every morning started early to make beds and clean the bunk houses.
4-H Camp was a great way for the St. Helena youth that attended to meet others from surrounding parishes and to gain some independence.
Campers from St. Helena included: Tiana Cooper, La’Daysha Etienne, Devin and Derrion Robbins, Mieisha Melton, Shir’Miracle James, Bre’Aynna Jacque, LaJarious Floyd, Steven and Spencer Guillory, and Jaron Banks. Junior Camp Counselors were Desire Guillory and Briana Cooper.
