2007 District Horse Show

Red River Parish was well represented this year at the Northwest District Horse Show held June 9, 2007, at the Double R Arena in Stonewall, LA. Thirty-three 4-H’ers with 51 horses competed at this event sponsored by the LSU AgCenter. Participating from Red River Parish were five 4-H’ers: Craig Ashley, Christian Campbell, Tyler Gulledge, Grace Shaver and Jeremy Woodley. All of our

4-H’ers qualified in at least one event for the State Horse show to be held July 9 – 14, 2007, at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in Monroe, LA.

Results of Red River Parish 4-H’ers at the district horse show are:

Craig D. Ashley and horse Misty:  Breakaway Roping, 14 and over: 1^st Place - Purple Ribbon; Tie Down Roping, 14 and over: 1^st Place – Purple Ribbon; Team Penning - Qualified

Christian Campbell and horse Rose:  Breakaway Roping, 14 and over: 1^st Place - Purple Ribbon; Tie Down Roping, 14 and over: 1^st Place – Purple Ribbon; Team Penning - Qualified

Christian Campbell and horse Jealous:  AOB & Grade Horse Mares, all ages: 2^nd Place - Blue Ribbon

Tyler Gulledge and horse Southern Sassy Chic:  Paint Horse Mares, Foaled in 2005 (2 year old) 2^nd Place - Blue Ribbon

Grace Shaver and horse Melody Bar Seeker:  Quarter Horse Mare, Foaled in 2003 & before: 4^th Place - Blue Ribbon; Hunter Under Saddle, 13 and under: 3^rd Place - Red Ribbon; Hunter Seat Equitation, 13 & under: 2^nd Place – Blue Ribbon; Western Pleasure, 13 and under: 6^th Place - Blue Ribbon; Western Horsemanship, 13 and under: 7^th Place – Red Ribbon
