Camp Grant Walker Archery shoot-off

On Saturday, August 8, 2009, Red River Parish 4-H member Michael Arnold attended the Camp Grant Walker Archery Shoot-off in Pollock, La. During the week of Summer Camp that Red River Parish 4-H members attend in July, Michael scored in the Top 5 of the week, winning fourth place in the archery division. By doing so, he earned a chance to compete in the Camp Grant Walker Archery Shoot-off. With 29 participants in the shoot-off, Michael placed eighth in that competition.

2009 Day of Service

The 2009 Day of Service was a commuity project with the town of Coushatta and other community groups to clean the town. 4-H'ers from Red River Parish joined in the effort.

On Saturday, July 18, 2009, the grand opening of the 4-H Museum in Manursa, Louisiana, took place. Red River Parish agent Cindy Smith and volunteer Nancy Nettles attended the event to see the different features of the museum.
Red River 4-H'ers attend 4-H Camp Grant Walker

Campers from Red River Parsih 4-H had one of the most valuable experiences a child can have in one week. Camp was a learning experience that helped boys and girls appreciate the outdoors, living together as a group, getting along with others and learning about people with different interests and backgrounds.
Local 4-H’er wins Scholarships
D.J. Rambin
Red River Parish 4-H’er Dustie Rambin (D.J.), was chosen to receive two scholarships and was named an alternate for two others from the Louisiana 4-H Foundation. Rambin graduated in 2009 from Saline High School.
