Formerly known as 4-H Short Course, this was the 93rd annual gathering of young people from across the state and is considered one of the highlights of the LSU AgCenter’s 4-H youth development program.
Approximately 2,500 people – including 4-H’ers, adult leaders, volunteers and parents – participated in the 4-H U events on the LSU campus June 19-22. The events included competition for trips and prizes, educational activities, personal development sessions and guest speakers, as well as the election of state 4-H officers and district representatives.
“Louisiana 4-H is one-of-a-kind program made up of outstanding young people from across our state,” said LSU AgCenter Vice Chancellor Paul Coreil. “We’re glad to provide them this annual opportunity to visit the state’s flagship university, to meet new people and to test their knowledge and skills – all while having fun.”
The Red River 4-H staff would like to thank Nancy Nettles who attended 4-H U and assisted the 4-H’ers during this event. We appreciate her support in ALL areas of 4-H. A special thanks goes to the Red River Parish Fair Board for sponsoring the wonderful meal at T.J. Ribs and for their support throughout the year.
