4-H Forestry and Insect Collections at the Fair

The Rapides Parish Fair is a great place for 4-H members to show their mastery of 4-H subject matter and projects. Two popular areas of study in 4-H are forestry and insects. Members can use their knowledge to create a leaf collection, a twig collection and even an insect collection! In order to prepare an exhibit for 4-H competition, a member should begin collecting specimens months prior to the October fair. Many of the specimens are available at various parks and recreation areas in our region. You are encouraged to treat nature with respect when gathering your specimens.
