The Culture and Heritage of Rapides Parish
Rapides Parish offers visitors a rich heritage of festivals and events depicting an authentic representation of the diverse culture that exists in the Central Louisiana area. Louisiana has always been known as "Sportsman's Paradise" and the Alexandria/Pineville area is the center for all hunting, fishing and sporting activities.
Some of the many events featured throughout the year include Alexandria Mardi Gras, Jazz on the River, Que’in on the Red BBQ Festival, Alexandria ACES Baseball, Downtown Rocks, Nursery Festival, 12 Nights of Christmas, Annual Cemetery Tour, Art Walk, Pops on the River, Pie Festival, Rock the Red, Alexandria Zoo Boo, Fall Family Festival, Kent House Sugar Day, Louisiana Nursery Festival and many more.
