Jr. Leaders Are Ready to Go!
Retreating away to North Toledo State Park, the Natchitoches Parish Jr. Leader Officer Team enjoyed icebreakers, team building activities and a camp fire on the edge of Toledo Bend. The 4-H’ers attended the 2nd annual Officer retreat on September 5-7, 2008 to plan the upcoming year. They were Cady White, Adriana Wohletz, Haley LaCaze and Brittney Wells. 4-H Agent Laura Brumbaugh and 4-H Parent Volunteer Julie Wohletz accompanied the youth at the retreat. 4-Hers’ enjoyed many, getting to know you activities, leadership lessons, team building activities as well as dining together, building a campfire and hanging out by the pier. They also developed their calendar for the year, planning meeting themes, community service activities and social opportunities. The overall purpose of the Natchitoches Parish Jr. Leader Club is to teach leadership skills as well as other life skills to youth through a club where the youth feel safe and have a sense of belonging within the group. The Jr. Leader club is open to all 7th-12th graders. The first meeting will be on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 6:30 pm-7:30 pm at the Blue Building at the Natchitoches Parish Fairgrounds.
