The Consumer Foods Judging Team of Shaquala Commings, Ashley Hamilton and Kara Harvey placed 12th overall giving them a coveted place in the top 10 percent Blue Ribbon Group. Nelda Bailey also made an impressive performance in the Career Preparation Interview Contest. Quinshayla Honeycutt was awarded her certification as a 4-H state qualified Camp Counselor after completing the 7-hour Phase One training program.

4-H University is what was formerly called 4-H Short Course and includes both the competition events and the Clover College training tracks. 4-H is the youth development program of the nation's Land-Grant University System and is a dynamic effort designed to help young people and their families improve their quality of life. In Louisiana, it is administered by the LSU AgCenter.

4-H University features 38 different contest areas ranging from child development. Winners are awarded educational trips or opportunities to compete in regional or national events.
