Azaleas and Peaches
This week's news article will provide helpful information with these two topics.It is not too late to trim azaleas but do it now. Look for Lace bugs and azalea leaf gall.Peaches are a challenge to grow here. You have to spray weekly until they are ripe to keep the worms out and the diseases off.

Tomato Plants
This week's news article will provide information on planting spring tomatoes. In south Louisiana we typically will plant spring tomatoes from mid-March (for the risk takers) to about May 1st.

2008 4-H Achievement Day
2008 Key Club Winners

The annual 4-H Achievement Day was held Friday, April 11, 2008 at Walker High School beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a general assembly. Four-H'ers throughout the parish participated in various contests.

Pruning Azaleas and Control for Pecan Phylloxera

I receive a lot of calls about those little black knots on pecan trees. Those little knots are an insect problem that occurs when the buds start to put out on pecans. The knots are caused by an insect know as pecan phylloxera. Read more on how to control.
