Honey Bee Essay Contest

The deadline for turning in essays for the Honey Bee Eassy Contest is January 26. Essays should be in the Lincoln Parish 4-H Office by that time. You can go to this SITE to learn more information.  Contact AMANDA or GARY to turn in essays or if you have any questions.

Essayists are invited to learn about the honey bee’s dance language, how it was discovered, how it works and how it provides colonies the ability to find and exploit floral resources. The results of scout bees leading nest-mates back to a new food source can be demonstrated easily by a beekeeper.

Topic: “The Dance Language of Bees”

Awards: Cash prizes to top three national winners are $750 for first place, $500 for second place and $250 for third place. National winners also receive an appropriate book about honey bees, beekeeping, or honey.
