Lafayette 4-H Barnyard Scoop
The Lafayette 4-H Barnyard Scoop is the periodical newsletter for the 4-H livestock program in Lafayette Parish. It is intended for all members enrolled in and planning to exhibit beef, dairy, goats, sheep, swine and poultry projects. This volume is for the 2007-2008 school year that is published periodically beginning in November through October.
4-H Records Contest
These results consist of all youth in the parish that turned in project books. The top books will be recognized as Brackin Bowles Outstanding Record Books winners.

Childcare Provider Training for April-June 08

Youth Wetlands Week offers message of hope
(Distributed 03/13/08) After a successful first year in 2007, Youth Wetlands Week is expanding in 2008. This year during the week of March 31 through April 4, more than 55,000 students in grades four through 12 are expected to take part in lessons and activities designed to promote awareness of America’s wetlands.
Learn life skills, have fun at 4-H summer camp
(Distributed 03/12/08) “Fun for a week – Memories for a lifetime!” That’s the theme of the summer 2008 4-H camping experience at the Grant Walker 4-H Educational Center near Pollock, La. The first of 10 weeklong camps won’t be until May 26-30. But registration for the camp, through LSU AgCenter parish extension offices, is going on now.
Golf tournament, raffle to benefit Louisiana 4-H
(Distributed 03/10/08) The 11th annual Louisiana 4-H Foundation Golf Tournament will be held April 4 at the Tamahka Trails Golf Club in Marksville. Proceeds from the golf tournament will be used to expand programs and renovate existing areas at the LSU AgCenter’s Grant Walker 4-H Educational Center near Pollock.
School leaders, 4-H agents celebrate successes
(Distributed 03/05/08) The Louisiana Association of Extension 4-H Agents touted accomplishments and expressed appreciation to those in attendance at the annual Louisiana School Boards Association Board of Directors and Superintendents’ Breakfast during LSBA’s 71st convention Feb. 29.
2008 Louisiana Horse Expo slated for Gonzales
