Airline Park 4-H’ers are “Discovering 4-H”
Airline Park 4-H members gave demonstrations on their favorite things they learned out of their Discovering 4-H project book. Discovering 4-H is the project book assigned to all new 4-H members in grades 4-6. The units covered in the book include: Agriculture in Louisiana, You and Your Family, Things That Make Your World Work, Plants, Environment, and Animals. | | 4-H’ers learn the importance of being neat and clean by keeping their clothes in tip-top shape. They learn step by step how to fix or replace missing or loose buttons on clothing. This 4-H’er is demonstrating how to sew a button on a piece of cloth. |
| | Making small changes in your diet can help with maintaining a healthy weight. This 4-H member shares with the group her alternative to hamburgers, a low fat tasty ham sandwich. She added a touch of cinnamon to give the sandwich a twist. |
| | | This 4-H’er is demonstrating how to make a “Super Sipper” which a healthy drink alternative to cola which contains many calories and little nutrients. The ingredients include: 1 ½ cups low fat milk, 1 ½ cups water, 6 ounce can of frozen orange juice concentrate, and 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla. |
