The 2008 Sugarcane Festival will be held September 25-27. The Sugarcane 4-H Livestock Show and Sale will be held Saturday, September 27th at SugArena in New Iberia. Rules and entry forms concerning the market animal divisions are attached.

The 2008 Iberia Parish Achievement Day was held Saturday, April 5th at Westgate High School. The theme this year was"100 Years in Louisiana 4-H" and was dedicated to the Iberia Parish Farm Bureau. Overall awards are listed below. See attached files for contest results.

Four-H clubs from throughout the parish turned in their record books for judging on March 3rd. Record book results are listed as follows: (a) alphabetically by project, (b) then by club, and (c) then by last and first name.

The annual 4-H Achievement Day will be held Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Westgate High School beginning at 8:45 a.m. with a general assembly. Four-H'ers from throughout the parish participate in various contests. A Fashion Revue will be held at 10:30 a.m. for those 4-H'ers who made a garment and an awards program will be held at approximately 10:45 recognizing those 4-H'ers who excelled during the year.

The annual State 4-H Livestock Show is held February 11-16, 2008 at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, LA. Four-H'ers from throughout the state participated in this statewide event.

The 27th Youth Co-op Leadership Conference will be held April 4th through April 6th at Grant Walker Educational Center located in Pollock, La. Youth in 8th though 12th grades are eligible to attend. The conference is designed to provide an opportunity for students to study & learn about the cooperative form of business, enhance teamwork, leadership, & communication skills. The annual 4-H Parish Rabbit & Poultry Show was held Saturday, February 2, 2008 at SugArena in New Iberia. Four-H'ers exhibited rabbits and their 3 best broilers at their respective shows. Broiler exhibitors were able to qualify for the state poultry show. Approximately 50 4-H'ers, parents and volunteers attended this educational activity.

The annual Acadiana District 4-H Livestock Show was held January 23-26, 2008 at ULL's Blackham Coliseum in Lafayette.4-H and FFA exhibitors from throughout the Acadiana area participated. Approximately 60 Iberia 4-H'ers exhibited over 100 animals in the species of beef, goat, lamb and swine.
