2008 Sugarcane Ripener Recommendations
In 2008, the following glyphosate formulations will be marketed for use as chemical ripeners in stubble sugarcane: Touchdown Total®, Roundup WeatherMAX®, and Roundup PowerMAX®; there may also be a limited supply of Polado L®. NOTE: THESE PRODUCTS ARE NOT LABELED FOR USE IN THE PLANT-CANE CROP.
2008 Sugar Cookery Contest Rules
The annual Sugar Cookery Contest will take place on Friday, September 26, 2008 at the Cyr-Gates Community Center in New Iberia City Park. This contest is open to all Iberia Parish 4-H'ers.

2009 LSU AgCenter State Livestock Show
Locations for the 2009 LSU AgCenter State Livestock Show validation procedure for steers, beef commercial heifers, market lambs, commercial ewes, market goats and commercial does will be held September 23-27, 2008. Also the changes for the state livestock show that will be implemented at the 2009 show are listed.
Iberia FCS Advisory Council
The responsibilities of the FCS Advisory Leadership Council are to identify needs and issues, identify opportunities for collaboration, be active in sharing their skills and knowledge to help the parish in the family consumer science fields of nutrition and family resource managements and family development and understand Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service as a community resource. Terms will be 2 to 3 years.

2008 Acadiana District 4-H Horse Show Results
The Acadiana District 4-H Horse Show was held July 3-5, 2008 at ULL's Blackham Coliseum in Lafayette. Four-H'ers from through the Acadiana area competed in this event sponsored by the LSU AgCenter's Cooperative Extension Service.
2008 4-H University Results
Louisiana 4-H University brought youth from across the state to the LSU Campus June 17-20, 2008 to compete in various contests. Approximately 1800 people, 1500 4-H'ers and hundreds more adult leaders and volunteers participated. The gathering is one of the highlights for 4-H members in Louisiana. Four-H'ers competed individually and as team members in various project areas.

The 4-H Tri Parish Horse Show was held Monday, June 9th at SugArena in New Iberia. Four-H exhibitors from Iberia, St. Mary and St. Martin Parishes participated in this event.
