Strong families are the building blocks of society and sometimes families need a little help to thrive in a changing world.

Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service Family and Consumer Science agents present educational programs in three focus areas: Nutrition and Health, Family Development, and Family Resource Management.

Lessons in these areas are designed to help citizens gain knowledge they can use to improve their lives.

Please contact Ginger Boutwell for more information.

Family Development strengthens families. Programs are offered to train parents and child care providers in quality care-giving practices, child development, guidance and communication.

Family Resource Management improves family economic well-being. Programs are offered to teach youth and adults how to manage, maximize and protect their money, homes and lives to reach their goals.

Nutrition and Health improves the health of youth and families. Programs are offered to help clients make wise food and lifestyle choices that fit personal needs and help families enjoy healthier lives.

Franklin Parish Family & Consumer Science Agent, Ginger Boutwell, offers a monthly lunch 'n' learn program called "Noon Nibbles" that focuses on a different topic of interest each month.
