On-farm crop demonstrations are used to show how LSU AgCenter recommendations perform on producers' farms. Cooperating producers and their neighbors can view these demonstrations throughout a growing season and review the final harvest data. This information, along with other LSU AgCenter publications, is used by producers to make production decisions for the next year.
Several producers cooperated this year in planting crop variety demonstrations.
Ricky Campbell Jr. planted a glyphosate tolerant (Roundup Ready) corn hybrid demonstration which is located on Highway 865 near the Winnsboro city limits. Hybrids included are DeKalb DKC68-06, Pioneer 31P42, NK N78N GT/CBLL, Dyna-Gro 58V24, Belle 1655VT3, Terral TV26BR41, Croplan 851 RR2/Bt, NC+ 6361 RB, Dyna-Gro 57V05, Belle 1545VT3, Terral TV25BR23 and Pioneer 31D59.
Jack Dailey planted a cotton variety demonstration on Snow Kincaid Road in Gilbert. Varieties included are Monsanto/Deltapine DP 0935 B2RF, Monsanto/Deltapine DP 0949 B2RF, Landolakes/Croplan CG 3220 B2RF, Landolakes/Croplan CG 3035 RF, Dow/Phytogen PHY 375 WF, Dow/Phytogen PHY 485 WF, Bayer/Stoneville ST 5458 B2RF, Bayer/Stoneville ST 5288 B2F, Bayer/Stoneville St 4288 B2F and Bayer/Fibermax FM 1740 B2F.
Bill Anderson planted a soybean Group IV variety demonstration on Ogden Cemetery Loop in Liddieville. Varieties included are USG 74A91, Pioneer 94Y70, Armor 47-F8, Dyna-Gro 36Y48, Delta King DK4968, Delta Grow 4870, Asgrow 4605, Pioneer 94M80, NC+ 4A81RS, MorSoy4824, Progeny 4807, NK S49-H7, Croplan 4877, and Terral 47R18.
Producers are encouraged to go by and look at these demonstrations. The plot plans with results are attached below.
