Twenty five 4-H members from Franklin Parish attended 4-H Camp June 14-18th at Camp Grant Walker in Pollock, La. Joining Franklin campers were 4-H’ers from Morehouse, Washington, Natchitoches, St. Helena, Terrebonne, West Feliciana, Bossier and Madison parishes.
Camping is one of the most valuable experiences a child can have. It’s a learning experience that helps boys and girls appreciate the outdoors, live together as a group, get along with others, and appreciate people with different interests and backgrounds. Activities at camp include canoeing, archery, hunter safety, environmental education and computers, along with swimming, volleyball, softball, basketball, games, and crafts.
4-H members attending from Franklin Parish were Chris Ponder, Conner Cureington, Collin Shirley, John Barber, Garrett Kramer, Kyle Wilson, Megan Gallagher, Kylee Payne, Kacey Ezell, Farrin Johnson, Shelby Elliot, Victoria Mays, Savannah Ponder, Journey Wall, Raylin Ruffin, Taylor Wroten, Sarah Neal, Rebekah Crawford, Keyunia Robinson, and Hollee Jester. Serving as counselors were Kabria Morgan, Bianca Brewington, Jason Calhoun, and Quinterio Lane. Also attending was 4-H agent, Laura Bradley
