4-H University is made up of outstanding young people. The annual 4-H University program provides 4-H members from across Louisiana with the opportunity to visit the state’s flagship university, to meet new people and to test their knowledge and skills.

Four 4-H’ers represented Franklin Parish at 4-H University on the LSU Campus in Baton Rouge June 22-25, 2010. Youth participated in the event with over 1200 high school youth from across Louisiana. Youth representing our parish include Bianca Brewington who competed in Public Speaking, Jason Calhoun and Melissa Blackson who attended Clover College in Robotics, and Joseph Calhoun who attended Clover College in Sports.

Also attending 4-H University was 4-H Agent, Laura Bradley.Bianca Brewington ran, was elected, and will serve as Regional Representative for the Northeast Region on the State Executive Board this year. Jason Calhoun is also a member of the State Science, Engineering, and Technology Board and Jeremy Rowan is a member of the State Shooting Sports Ambassador Program. Our Franklin Parish youth will be well represented this year across the state.
